CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Experience Level

Beginner

Designed specifically for introductions and a student’s first few weeks of training. This class focuses on foundational positions, basic movements, and essential submissions to build confidence and understanding of how Jiu Jitsu works. After learning the fundamentals, students are quickly ready to transition into Intermediate classes.

Intermediate / Advanced

For students who have developed a solid foundation and are ready to build deeper skill and strategy. Classes vary but are typically structured around a team warm up, focused technique drills, and live rounds of sparring. Drilling and live rounds are adapted based on experience level in each class.

All Levels

Open to everyone. Instruction is structured so beginners can follow along while experienced students refine details and increase intensity. Drilling and live rounds are adapted based on experience level in each class.

Gi or No-Gi

Gi Classes

Training in the traditional kimono (gi). The gi allows grips on sleeves, collars, and pants, creating a more technical and methodical style of grappling that emphasizes control and precision.

Required attire: Gi, belt, and a rash guard underneath.

No-Gi Classes

Training without the traditional uniform. No-Gi is typically faster paced and relies more on body positioning, underhooks, overhooks, and clinch control rather than fabric grips.

Required attire: Rash guard and grappling shorts or athletic shorts with no pockets, zippers, or metal. Spats or compression leggings are optional.
Beginner attire: Fitted t-shirts are welcome in beginner classes

Special Classes

Students drill core Jiu Jitsu movements repeatedly to build stamina and efficiency. The second half of class shifts to no-submission flow rolling with active three minute rounds and no rest between rounds. Stay moving, stay technical, and keep rolls low stress but continuous.

Open Mat

Open training format with five minute rounds. Gi or No-Gi, and it is suggested to be prepared for either. This session is open to members and non-members free of charge. All participants must register and sign a waiver prior to training.

Muay Thai
